Another Trifid salvo

OK, I will join in the Trifid war. Modest and only moderately suitable gear and all. 22 X 600 second subs with a C925 SCT (Meaning visible coma and other defects) at native 2200mm focal length, Camera is the ASI294MC Pro. Integrated in APP and a minor tweak in Photoshop and downsizing for upload here.

Far from my last word on it even with this scope. I am hoping to double the integration time tonight.

Edit. Astrobin here which is a bit kinder to it.

A very nice close-up shot of the Trifid Paul.

For now this one will have to do, I got up to 380 minutes integration time last night but the clouds rolled in and that was that. I did a quick test image of Antares and with the SCT it displayed the same sort of reflection issue that was resolved by the UV-IR filter on the refractor, so I may have to go again on all the narrow FOV stuff later with a filter suited to the SCT. One thing that really benefited on the refractor was star colours so I guess I should save a few dollars and get an SCT threaded filter. There is an off the shelf Atronomik SCT UV-IR cut filter available with three band pass widths to choose from.
