Fireball or space junk?

Did anyone see a fireball in the evening light in SE Qld this evening?

Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine (just the 1) at 1826 hrs, Qld time, there was a very bright streak going from east to north, at an altitude of about 25 deg I would estimate. It was a fairly flat trajectory, and disappeared (burnt out) when it was about due north from Toowoomba. Very bright, and clearly visible to the naked eye. We saw no residual smoke, and heard nothing.

Does anyone know what it might have been?
