To my surprise it was a clear morning, hence I decided to dust off the solar rig. Seeing was not exceptional, but OK.

Have to say, the Sun is boring as bat s.... at the moment.

That said, I just looked at the non-gamma corrected data stream, and yes, there is a very faint prom there! ...which I simply didn't notice.... hence concentrated on the disk data. Will process it shortly.

Thanks Ross. I find it very rewarding...our star is one of the few objects you can image that can show changes in minutes rather that years.

BTW..my solar imaging camera was for sale on IIS for 60% less than the cost of a new unit. No takers so decided to keep it rather than give it away...I’m guessing solar imaging is not that popular just yet...and to be fair, 80mm and up solar instruments are not cheap.(I tried smaller aperture units, but found the resolution wasn’t high enough for what I wanted to acheive)

Sorry 'scope is not for sale.. Ironically I advertised my 1" format Point Grey high frame rate CCD (essential for capturing this sort of data IMHO and at a 60% discount from what I paid), on IIS and got no takers....go figure.

Damn. Been after a relatively cheap solar astrophotography setup for a while! Its damn expensive!!

The only thing i have is a silver glass solar filter which produces no detail at all

Hey mate I seen your comment that you were after a solar scope, I have 5 and I’m about to have a heart opp next month and would like to unload some gear.
What are you after and how much do you want to spend.

I have a Coronado SM90 with a BF15 blocking filter on a 600mm scope,,,,,,,a Daystar Chromsphere Quark on a 400mm scope,,,,,another Quark on a Nikon 300 lens,,,,,,,a Modified PST with a Moonlite focuser and a BF10 blocking filter with a 1.5x extender coming for it,,,,,,,and a Baader wedge on a 600mm scope.

I will probably let the first one and the last 2

All have amazing images.
