Question Controller for Bahtinov mask?

Folks,

Has anybody created/made or seen a DIY Bahtinov mask helper? I figure it would need to be a lightweight motor to live on the end of the dew shield and then rotate under computer control to save the manual chore of putting the mask on manually

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Cheers,
Dunk

Dunk you might be able to use the actuator from a Snap Cap, and it is computer driven.

Chore.... oh boy first world problems lol.

Takes 1 sec to remove...I tie mine to the capstan wheel and let it dangle when done.

You need a Segway to move around the scope too Dunk?

Could be very handy if someone with a torch is getting too close to the end of your OTA too?

Lewis, it's a life-threatening chore, leaving the comfort of the heated house and braving the Brisbane winter to go out and check my focus

Only the possums and spiders doing that in my back yard, but they are a nuisance with their glinting eyes in the Ha band

The possums behind my back fence growl at me from the trees when i am out there, and their eyes look pretty evil in the reflection of a red headlight. Spooky. Have to admit i dread finding one in the observatory one night, if they walk along the top of the fence they can get through my screen trees to the obs roof rails.

Ah my possums are a little more friendly/timid, not that it didn't freak me out when the bushes started rustling the first few times I've had the look from them, saying "what are you doing out here at this time of night?", but the other side of the hedge is a public walkway so I think they're used to people stomping by.

Possums... tree rats.

When I observe, I contend with rabbits, roos, possums and the occasional fox.

Lets see... here we have possums, black snakes presumably dining on the occasional rat/mouse, a family of brush turkeys, 6 resident rabbits, a fox that seems to have made friend with the rabbits... various birds to the extent we have a dawn chorus (no need for alarm clocks).

All in a strata garden in the north shore.

Observing site involves sharing with a mob of 50 roos, and the leader is taller than me.
