Mars and Uranus - 11 Oct

Hi there, for those of you not on CN, here are some images I took on Sunday night/Monday morning. Melbourne's weather finally cooperated and I was able to catch some nice images of Mars, Uranus and their moons.

Great Mars shot Andrew. I imaged it the 10th and see same similar shapes and clouds. Good reference.

I also like your Uranus shot. How much lower than Mars is it from your location? Did you need a wider ROI to capture its moons?

Hi Marc, thanks for that.

Mars peaked at about 46 degrees for me here, Uranus was around 36 degrees elevation when I took this image.

The ROI for Mars+moons was much larger than for the planet itself, 1184x422 pixels vs 232x224 for just the planet. The Uranus+moons image had an ROI of 976x742 pixels.

Thanks for that. Mars peaks at 50 degrees here. I'll look for Uranus and try it tomorrow night if it's clear. 40 degrees sounds good.
PS: actually Stellarium says 42 degrees. It's late in the night though.
