Eta Carina

I've lost count of how many cloudy and rainy days we had there but finally we had 3 days of clear skies in Wollongong. So I decided to gather some data on a few targets rather than just one. So at this point not a lot of integration time but it's something at least. So here is just 3 hours on Eta Carina in SHO, can't wait to get enough data to avoid the posterization.

Equipment:
Telescope : William Optics Star 71
Camera : ZWo183MM Pro
Filters : ZWO 7nm Ha, Oiii and Sii
Mount : CEm40

12x300s each filter at Gain 111, offset 10 and -15C

Processed in PixInsight.

That's an amazing image. If I saw that say 5 years ago I would have expected to see in the gear used absolutely high end gear. To get that much resolution from a small refractor shows how much they have improved and these CMOS sensors are helping a lot too. A good match up of gear. Love the colours too.

Greg.

Thanks guys. Yep the 183 and a short fairly fast refractor are a match made in heaven.

That's an excellent Tri colour, wavelength ordered, emission line image Paul, nice work, even has just a little magenta left in the stars too, I like that

Beautiful colour rendition. The 183mm works well on that scope.
