It’s a sad story....

So there I was last night, over at my beautiful partners house, laying on her bed as I watch her undress and jump in the shower. I peak out the window as she slips in to the shower and see a cloudless and calm night.

My choice is stay and hold her in my arms all night....or....head home to sit in a cold and lonely obs.

So fast forward to 6am......I’m sitting in front of the computer stacking 6 hours of data hahahahaha. Left the scope running all night on a target and at 5am I couldn’t help myself, I had to get up and check how it went.

.......I fear I have a problem.

So it seems I need to work on my focus......both in astrophotography and life!

Bloody imaging train tilt wasted my night of subs, half the image focused, half not.

.......might have to pick some flowers up for the girlfriend this morning.......and a tilt adjuster for the scope.

Anth,

Trying to make the best of a bad situation and salvage something......I’m up early with nothing to do now so I’m about to shoot back to her place and cook her breakfast

Not a difficult choice really, your girlfriend could have come with you to the Observatory, you could have rugged her up nice and warm there. and got the imaging right all at the same time

You could be compromising your real passion in the stars don't be blinded by the light!
But then again.....love :

Ohh the personal sacrifices we sometimes have to make to pursue our hobby. If she understands then she's a keeper.

Whatever you do ...do not feel guilty.
And given the weather and the rare opportunity that one gets to image you must get your priorities right.
Your relationship has a life time to run but who knows how long the stars will stay up there.

No guilt here Alex..........although the way I caress my scope sometimes could be classed as cheating on her
