DSS probs

hello members
well for the first time in months i got a few hours of data last night
however i have spent the last four hours attempting to DSS them but every time "only 1 of 35 can be stacked" message appears
i have increased the star thresh hold so that is not it
i tried files i have successfully stacked previously and the same message appears
i have the version 3.3.3 beta 47
any suggestions
thanks in advance

Hi Pat,

It sounds like not enough stars, I use DSS v3.3.2 and that is usually what happens when it won't stack. I have to reduce the star threshhold to the minimum and and restart the registration process. DSS needs a min of 7 stars to stack (no more than 50 or DSS will take too long to register the stars).

DSS should give you listing of all your subs and will report the number of stars detected and a score that tells you how good the sub is.

Maybe you have an issue with the Beta version not installing correctly.

Regards
Bill

Hi Pat,

Yes go the other direction, so DSS sees more stars.

P.S. make sure all your subs are checked i.e thay all have ticks on left hand side column of the sub listing.

ok thanks bill that has now worked
it did stack strangely though because even though my galaxy has got good focus, the stars around the perimeter are very eggy and usually they are still very round right out to the edges on any of my other pics i have done
i will post the resultant effort
thanks
pat
