QHY5 dropping out?

Hi,
I've just been most graciously been gifted a Starlight Xpress SVXR-H9C Cooled CCD and I am now running into an issue with my QHY5 guide camera.

I am running a single USB cable from a USB2 port on my laptop to a powered USB2 hub. Now when I try to connect the QHY5 up to the laptop it sometimes doesn't get recognised or drops out once it is initialised in PHD.

I have 2 theories but if any other ideas can be presented it would be great.

Theory 1 - The usb cable is dodgy and i need to get a new one.

Theory 2 - That there is not enough USB data bandwidth to keep both cameras and the EQdirect cable running.

Ultimately I would like to keep it as one cable from the laptop to the USB2 hub but I did get it all working with running the QHY5 to its own usb port on the laptop.

Hi Josh
Theory three would be the usb hub is getting overloaded, which of course is theory 2 as you are still only using one usb2 port on the laptop.

I have a feeling it might be that. But i have had an 1100D and the QHY5 on there before with no dramas with the 1100D sending live data back to the PC.

Well I have a DMK21au618 on the way now so that will replace the QHY5.
