Ngc 3521

Hey guys, this is my first image for the year hahaha.
15 hrs lum
2 hrs each RGB

My focuser busted during the colour collection, so it was manually adjusted, and it was very close to the horizon, so pretty happy with the result considering that.

Do you guys think more colour?

Thanks for looking!

That's a really pretty galaxy. Great colours and depth.
Personally I reckon you could boost the saturation a tad if your SNR allows but there's plenty of details in that shot already.

PS: Looked it up had a play with it. Definitely on my todo list with the CN-212.

Great result Erik, one of my favourite galaxies this one, love the flocculence

As Marc says, perhaps a little more colour fidelity would be worth investigating..?

Very pretty. I like the field size. Small enough to show details in the galaxy and large enough to give the impression of a lonely little galaxy lost in space.
I wouldn’t mess with the colour—it looks great as it is.

Looking good.

Yes it needs more colour and correct the magenta bias. It has more yellow in its core as is pretty standard for a spiral galaxy. I would find a good version of it and use it as a guide. Also the stars need their colour brought back.

Greg.

Thanks for posting an interesting target Erik. NGC3521 is quite an amazing visual experience with all of the busy halos and interaction that is going on. A tad too small for my set up so I must enjoy the postings of others

This galaxy is on my object list and I think your version is a nice one. Great detail and subtle colour.

Love this galaxy. Very nice, Erik! I too think it could do with a touch more colour, and perhaps you could darken the background a bit to give it a bit more punch.

Thanks for all the excellent feedback guys had a play with the colour/star colour. This one looks better perhaps, although there seems to be quite a loss in the reds after i save as a JPEG...the XISF looks a lot nicer...
