Question: any ideas why the algorithm=none has been removed?

Dunk what does that mean "algorithm=none" ?

On another matter, what happened to multi-star guiding they were testing 12 months ago?

From the Changelog:
Guide algorithm None has been removed

I’m assuming that means that raw, unadulterated guiding is no longer available...

The "None" algorithm was a bit of a misnomer. What it did was to simply apply guide pulses to exactly correct for the deviations. It was removed because it caused confusion as to what it did and can be easily replicated with the Hysteresis algorithm with 100% aggression and 0% hysteresis
