I was speaking to Scott (Skullmurphy) yesterday and advised him of the dates - he will see if he can come along as well. He has an Orion XXGT14" I think.

I still remember setting up my telescope in the twilight and hearing a loud crunch coming from the picnic table, and looking up and seeing all these dark shadows had merged.

I am 99% sure I will be working this new moon. But I have a week off starting the 25th of October which is around the next new moon. I will be getting in 4 or 5 days away for that.

Just one week until the next New Moon and warm weather predicted for next week at Bretti this may prove to be a great dark site opportunity - we certainly deserve it after a disappointing winter. Get your gear dusted off and join us.

I am aiming to head up to Bretti on Tuesday morning. I think there was at least one going up on Monday is that right (gmbfilter)?

The first one in will have to recon the situation re the usual spot. I am happy enough out in the middle if required.

It looks like the four day weather chart is going to give us some great nights!

Yes, Some Clear nights in the short-term forecast, but Wednesday looks to be the best of them currently.

Just finished my Mr Owl pivoting Hand Controller pad modification, cheap as chips and works a treat, thanks for the info Geoff.
