I need Photoshop Astronomy.

I am trying to get a new or used copy[ with DVD] of The above title, but the situation seems to be as bad as with Hartungs. The cheapest
seller I could find that will post it to Australia wants just under $100 for
it plus $50 for the slowest version of snail mail.[3-6 weeks delivery]. The
publisher's quoted new price is US$39.95.
Has anyone got any inside knowledge that might help me get it a bit
cheaper?

hi raymo,

i had a look online and the cheapest i could manage it was $76.04AUD to Australia. that was through amazon, i clicked on the 10 new then it was about the third or four store down - it mentions international rates on the right hand side.

there are a few good online tips which are free.
here's a couple to get started.

Thanks Rusty, I went there and when I went to purchase, was told that the supplier doesn't sell it any more, even though it said 5 copies in stock
in the listing. Another seller showed as having one, but the same thing happened. It looks as though Amazon don't update their listings as often
as they should. I'll go there again, and have another look.

Does your local Astro Society have a library? I borrowed a copy from mine.

Hi JJJnettie, I got a copy from Amazon. I've no idea if my nearest society has a copy, they're over a hundred kays away.

I can relate to that. It takes me 2 hours one way to get to my meetings.

Hi Logan
The edition I have (March 2009) is based on the original which was for CS2 but has an addendum for updates up to CS4. ( Authors note) The CD just contains a pile of images which form the basis for the tutorials which appear in the book

The concepts are gone into some detail and still apply for the current version but I don't recall seeing anything on HDR as an example.

The GUI is different and the way some things are done in the newer version is simpler but the steps still apply from what I see.

Very helpful, thanks for this. I've got CS6. Perhaps not the DVD for me...
