New mini tracking gadget for Phones.

https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/vao...ybrid-36869902

Any thoughts on this upcoming gadget?

For the price you could probably buy a camera and fast lense with a mini tracker.

Vespera looks like half a Stellina.

Exactly . Still expensive at half the price and probably half the specs but interesting that astrophotography has become so popular.

True. The more people look up the more likely something gets done about LP.

I think both the Stellina and now this vespera are conceptually great products. I hope it’s as well designed and works as well as the video looks.

Despite great telescopes and cameras with outstanding optics, and despite some truly brilliant software, amateur Astronomy remains niche, with a small user base. A small user base can do little to influence things important to astronomy in any meaningful way.

Are Vaonis the apple of Astronomy? Can they do what Apple did for tablet computing? I have no idea! But I hope so. I remember people saying things about the first iPhones and iPads that today would seem quite silly and a little off the mark. 😂

Fantastic. This is what this hobby needs because it's unnecessarily complex. Ultimately, everything is an engineering problem and there's absolutely no reason even the high end gear that we all own can be fully automated with a simple click of a button without having to spend days, weeks and months setting up configs, profiles and testing.

Brilliant to see!!

This would be absolutely fantastic for EAA, Outreach and schools. Vespera is the second generation and is half the price of Stellina. The next iteration should be even better. This is only the beginning for this class of EAA products. Can't wait to see where it goes!
