Saturn Feb 20th 2017

Imaged Saturn Feb 20th in quite interesting conditions. Predictions were for good seeing, the disc of the planet and the Cassini division were quite crisp but with a ripple of varying magnitude going through the rings. The final result is more a triumph of the alignment quality of AutoStakkert. The North Polar vortex is well resolved as is the North Polar Hexagon. A considerable level of banding is visible while Dione can be seen below to the left. None of the features I have been tracking long term are visible but it is early days in this apparition.
