I did try one, and whilst I liked it, as with cars I am not one to be swayed by a make/name, if a Renault is for me, and what I want to do as good as a BMB I will get the Renault and spend the rest on something else.

I tried one three nights at an astro event along with other scopes and finally bought the triplet Skywatcher Esprit 120.

Personally I could "see" no difference

Balacz (balu01) on CN has actually owned one for a while now and has compared it to his FC100DL among others, he can probably give you a good rundown on the DZ.
It hasn't been out for very long with only a few examples being tested, no doubt we'll get more feedback soon.

There's something about looking through a Takahashi that makes it magical to myself but if you have viewed through both and preferred the Esprit that's all that matters just at f8 would be a nice visual scope just lose some valuable fov over the DF it just intrigues me how the DL f9 DF/DC f7.4 then the new arrival DZ f8 would i swap my DF hell no as to me it is the perfect all rounder, A beautiful scope........

Thanks Matt i will have a look at that

Hi Jeremy, was that between the 120 Esprit and the 100 DZ? It appears there isn't all that much between them price wise but the Esprit 120 is more than double the weight of the DZ. If there was no appreciable difference in the views, what made you go with the heftier package?

I think it might have been the DF version
