SHO Lobster, still growing...

The Lobster Nebula, NGC6357 (aka War and Peace Nebula), with the first 3 nights of data processed. I've got more data in the wings, but I'm waiting to collect a significant chunk more before doing a new version. Weather conditions have been such that I've been getting a little bit on various nights, but not many really long sessions. Almost all data collected for all channels has been done with the Moon around, as I've done other targets (like the NGC4945 I posted recently) when it hasn't been up.

Astrobin (larger version, details): https://astrob.in/olwrnf/B/

You guys are too polite. I've over-processed it and stuffed some bits up with it, so I'm going to start again (with the extra data as well, since it's back to scratch).

You already have some more subtle details showing so I would personally just let the data speak for itself without forcing it to look like what it is not. Colours - that is where I would unleash creativity Nice star shapes all the way to the corners

True. I found a new "hammer" recently while doing another project, so everything became a "nail" for it to use. I've got to resist the urge sometimes to go overboard and use everything possible.

Colours, yes, that's the interesting thing. I was looking at some examples off astrobin... there's some wildly different examples, and some I'm not sure how they got the colours that they did in certain areas, given the mix of the 3 channels.
