A meteorite

Hi all, I'm new here and looking to see if anyone else saw what I presume was a meteorite flash through the sky yesterday around 10:40 am? I was leaving Bundaberg heading north-ish and it burst into view, bits flying off it and the tail. Lasted maybe two seconds then was gone... Amazing to see but so far I can't find any more info on it...thanks, Ariel

Sounds like a meteor....
There was no space debris due to re-enter at the time.

Queensland daylight meteor

At present the American Meteor Society is showing two reports of this event around 1040 AEST (0040 UT) on 2016-07-24.

Good spotting to see one in the daylight
lucky
Just a little reminder, a Meteorite is only called that when it is on the ground.
A Meteor is when you see it in the sky.
Here's hoping you see many more meteor's in the future .
Cheers

I'd love to see something like this:

Be sure to watch the video to the end - the 1st stage shutdown + 2nd stage ignition (Atlas 5 launch) is pretty neat!
