Bright storm on Uranus, October 2

After many months of poor seeing around here I was blessed with one night of excellent seeing, coinciding with the transit of the newly discovered storm on Uranus.

Here's the image taken when the storm was at the CM, and an animation of images taken 15 mins apart that span before and after.

Details:

Scope: 16" f/4 newtonian
Camera: PGR Grasshopper3 Sony IMX174
Filter: Thorlabs 650nm longpass (with the camera, makes effectively 650nm - 850nm)
Capture: 15 mins @ 150ms (6.6fps), stacked best 75%
Software: Firecapture 2.4beta, ninox, Registax6, Gimp

You can see the two semi-permanent cloud bands ( north polar band at lower right and faint sub-equatorial band at upper left) as well as the very bright storm.

cheers, Bird

Fascinating images. And thanks for the technical details.

Really hope we get some good seeing here in Adelaide while this is still happening.
