Hi all,

Finally we have a clear night and it is a weekend and a new moon!

My mount has not had a longer run for ages and therefore it's a bit rusty, so guiding graph is not as smooth as some are showing in IIS, but I guess I will have to just enjoy my first astro night this year with what I have

Paah..looks like your Pa is slightly off of your balance isn’t quite right.Your mount is compensating for that hence everything hitting upper right.

You have an APMach1 and have dialed in pempro methinks.. noice.but your pa is still off.. just don’t tell Lewis.

Ps, here’s mine..in arc secs..

Suavi, you and Lewis have to stop guiding on hot pixels, it puts the rest of us to shame.

Did I mention that the tripod was standing on quick sand and that I never do a PA ?

But more seriously, if that's possible at all with such a thread, the tripod was positioned just on grass (normally I have large pavers underneath tripod legs) and I did not fine-tune balance nor PA to the highest level but guiding was nicely consistent until the early morning.

Have learnt that dew is significantly heavier in the new location so I had to add an extra heater strap near the camera to stop condensation forming on the outside of the camera's cover glass.

One more funny thing (to me anyway) - at some point I looked up and thought to my self - oh no, some high clouds are coming, wait a minute, these are not clouds - that's the Milky Way!. There you go, a city dweller experiencing dark skies...

Nice line, but really, you do need to drop the y scale back from 16". 2" or 4" please

I really should do a guiding graph and see how my mount goes, I haven’t used a guide scope for a few years.

I have just been following the trend started by my friend from Canberra

But at least the vertical scale is correct and in arcseconds, so RMS error can be read from the screenshot...

Colin, you should try guiding too - it’s fun and you could share your guiding graph too

The graph looks very good, but cannot see numbers for RMS - are we hiding something?

I feel really left out without a guide graph to share

I’ll have to use my main camera though. Maybe 10s exposures to take seeing out of the equation.

I somehow deleted the other nights graph data, but here is tonight's so far.

I think it's guiding OK.

Looks spectacular. I never get RMS below 0.25” with phd2, and yours is at about 0.06”

Wanna swap mounts?

Mine's not pushing much weight around. Polar alignment tonight was reported as 0 in Az, 2" out in Alt.

Flattener issues back again - time to take it off after this first run. GRRR. I wish we could get this stuff done in the day!
