Ngc 292 hoo

While waiting for NGC 2070 a week or two ago to get higheri decided to put some time into the SMC. Actually captured 14x300s to make a SHO but after 1.1 hours of integration of SII there is next to nothing to show for it. So, made a HOO for a nice natural colour.

Looks good, Colin. Just a little cramped. I think you need a full frame (or bigger) sensor

Funny, looking at the SMC in normal RGB ya'd never know there was that much gas in the field, great stuff Col The LMC has a little more going on in RGB.

I imaged this in RGB last night and it really is more interesting in HOO Maybe a HaOIIILRGB is in order!

It encompasses almost everything that’s interesting in the SMC, outside of this region is reasonably “dull”.

This looks good Colin. The colour really fits well and is not garish. Certainly demonstrates how much gas is in that part of the universe.

That's a most excellent and absorbing image Colin!

We had a look at our archives, and we have three separate images within the bounds of yours. We agree that there's not so very much SII in there.

Best,
MnT
