Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX

I never thought to ask this question, as I just assumed the MT-24EX would fit straight onto the front of the Canon EF 100m f2.8L Macro IS USM lens.

Is there anything I should know about anything extra required to get the two to fit together, or is the MT-24EX just designed to clip or screw straight on?

Better to ask before I buy than be bitten.

Baz.

Barry mate I have just bought the MT-24EX as well and for the purpose of using this Marco Flash Unit I had to puchase the Adapter 72.

Now as far as I am concerned this only applies to the Canon 180mm F/3.5, but maybe it might help you.

According to all the other Macro Lenses that Canon produce, the 180mm one is the only one that requires this adapter

Pretty sure it fits directly to the front of the 100L. I know it does to the older 100 macro and MPE65. I needed to get an adapter for my Sigma 150 macro. But it and the Canon macro lenses are designed to go together.

Be warned, it still gives a bit harsh light. Good idea to diffuse it.

Personally I found those diffusers all a bit too complicated, and just bought 2 Lumiquest UltraBounces and stuck some velcro on the flash heads. Works fine for me.
