I use 2 x Belkin 3m cables with a Belkin powered 4 port hub in the middle and don't have a problem with them unless I mess with the cable connection to the camera (B USB connection). If the connection is disturbed the software tries to re-install the camera driver when the connection is made good. For this reason I've been anchoring the cable to the camera.
