ISS over Brisbane tonight

I noticed there will be a few quite bright ISS passes over Brisbane this week so I thought I'd give it a try for the first time.

This image is a couple of minutes of tonight's pass using my OMD EM10 MKII and the Loawa 7.5mm f2 and Olympus in camera Live Composite.

Nice catch, Peter. Some very attractive light pollution gradients too

Nice shot Peter.

I assume that is Venus, Spica and Jupiter (with Zubenelgenubi) in the frame?

Cheers

Thanks for the comments. Dennis, I think that's right.

Tonight's pass was even longer but difficult to avoid street lights, overhead wires and trees.

Good to see your enthusiasm is still abalze, so soon after all those Astrofest nights!

Cheers

Thanks Dennis. The weather has been remarkable this year so I feel guilty not making the most of it. We haven't seen you at Astrofest for a while. Hopefully you will return one year?

Hi Peter

I seem to have lost or misplaced a little of the intensity I used to have for astronomy although not my general interest, so thanks for the timely reminder.

I'll definitely be back and in fact meeting up with Troy just before Astrofest did re-awaken some of that intensity.

Cheers

Dennis

Good to hear Dennis. Did Troy mention his conversation with my (empty) freezer suit jacket at Astrofest this year?

Hmm, thanks for that tidbit peter, but folks that live in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones.

At one Qld Astrofest, I was similarly busted holding a conversation with a G-11 mount, the owner having momentarily moved off.

Cheers

Yes, I think I was there. Funny how circumstances repeat.

I was going to make a joke about which holds more intelligent conversation, Peter or his jacket, but I won’t.
