Sorry I'm a few days late on getting onto this, I didn't realise until I came here for a look-see last night. We rarely seem to do birthday threads anymore so I certainly wasn't expecting one. What a fantastic surprise!
Geez, it doesn't pay not to come here for a few days
I had the most AMAZING birthday ever sharing it with Apollo 11's 50th anniversary celebrations. NASA's exhibition is currently here at our museum in Brisbane so I spent the day there (two floors of amazing things to see). Spoilt with lunch, afternoon tea and then onto Event Cinemas to watch the new Apollo 11 doco. I think it finishes today (Wed). Two hours of amazing footage and afterwards onto Thai restaurant for dinner.
Next day... Sunday 21st my celebrations continued to catch up with some family so a few Gold Class tickets incl. dinner & drinks for the new Lion King movie. Beforehand in the afternoon ABC on facebook live streamed the Apollo 11 landing in real time as it took place 50 years ago, it went for a few hours, what a great treat. I was only 4 yrs old at the time (and no tv in Sri-Lanka then anyway) so this was truly special to experience.
I was over the Moon with all the excitement
