Lens on ASI cameras?

Has anyone used a camera lens on their mono ASI camera?

Were there any problems?

I use the ASI 1600MM with various Zuiko lenses for spectroscopy.
No major issue if you can get lens adaptors (in my case Oly to T thread) and the back focus spacing.....

No. I usually have a transmission grating mounted on the front of the lens and just have the camera mounted on the rear.

I see.

In my case come to think of it a lens should mount fine as I have used that before successfully with my CCDs. The ZWO cameras use 16.5mm spacing of their sensors from the front metal lip of the camera. FLI Proline is 21.5mm and Microline around 16mm so I should be able to simply plug the ZWO camera into my filter wheel.

the ZWO site (down the bottom of the page) shows a configuration of lens and filter wheel. The front T thread spacer is removed from the ASI 1600 and the body has a 6.5mm back focus - gives a bit more working space

It looks like ASI really only support Canon EF and Nikon F lenses.

I did an unboxing video of the ZWO EOS Camera adapter win my ASI1600MM Pro. Have not actually got around to using it in anger yet, just for this video!

I was able to use an EF and EF-S lens with the filter wheel.

I've got the astromechanic adaptor. Thing is solid, much better built than the cheapo ZWO ones. It also allows for ASCOM focus and aperture control which is handy but most of my lenses are manual so that's almost a moot point aha.
