LHC at Queensland Museum

The Queensland Museum is hosting an exhibition "Hadron Collider: step inside the world’s greatest experiment" from 9 December to 25 April, on tour from the Science Museum in London.

The award winning exhibition recreates the largest scientific experiment ever constructed - I'm not sure how they fit it inside the Queensland Museum building? (Maybe all the tunnels that have been developed under Brisbane recently have just been preparation for the exhibition? )

I've got a friend who works at the Museum, and she says it is the best exhibition at QM that she has seen to date. Note that they have a few "UpLate" sessions (Friday nights: 9 December 2016, 3 February & 3 March 2017), which have talks and entertainment, and probably give you the opportunity to see the exhibition with slightly smaller crowds than the normal opening hours.

Thank you Julian, I can't wait to see this!
Hubby was lucky, he got to see the real thing a few years ago.

I went to the Up Late session last night, which had a few lectures in addition to the main exhibition. Fascinating to see some of the actual hardware from the accelerator ring and detectors!

Highly recommended!
