Lenses, yes, that is a limitation at the moment, but I don't think you will be dissapointed with the sensor technology and the lens/sensor combination - they seem well matched. Heard good things about the x e-1
Keep going Rowland, don't listen to Brent.
I have had an X-Pro 1 since they hit the market, and enjoy it immensely. The lens selection for terrestrial is fine: for astro, well, you can adapt.
I have the Leica M adaptor, and am about to buy a Pentax 67 lens to fit to it, specifically for astro use.
I agree, the I/R filter is quite tame, mine sees a lot of daytime I/R use.

Gaaaahhh!!! Stoppit !! My credit card won't take anymore !! nahnahnahnahnahnah I can't hear you !!!
In reality I need to get my existing setup functional and guiding before I even THINK about another camera or anything. My best buy right now would be an anti - cloud cannon or something.
I'll keep in touch Rowland, it will be a while though, the way I am adapting is to go Pentax to Sony Alpha (I have an a700) then Sony to Fuji. Circuitous for sure, but the simplest way for me.
What I have seen so far astro wise with it, I am very happy with. The only real gripe is the lack of programable remote, like I have for the Sony (manual cable release slot didn't help at all).
Gary
I'll be keen to see what that looks and works like. Up until now it has been me standing there pushing and locking the old cable release, watching the elapsed time tick over on the LCD. There are electronic methods out there, but mighty expensive. I'm hopeful a future firmware update will allow the USB port to be used, but not too hopeful.
Next clear night I will try the T mode, and shoot 30 second shots if nothing else.
Something else I will try is the Fuji lenses, the 35/1.4 and the 18/2. Might need stopping down a tad, but worth trying. If they work, swell, if not, too bad.
