Moonrise at Cape Byron Lighthouse.

Here is last weeks full moon rising behind the Cape Byron lighthouse in Byron Bay, NSW.

I was 4.8km away and using an ASI183MC-Pro attached to a Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 (@F3.5) via a Sigma 2x extender.

I captured 7 minutes of hi-res video in .SER format (83GB file !) but the wind was too strong and most of the footage was blurry.

This is a single frame exported from SER player as a TIF and edited in Lightroom.

That's very cool. You should post a video as well. Even blurry it would look good.

Thanks Marc - I did try many ways to try and recover the video or a partial timelapse but there were just too many blurry and twisted frames due to the rolling shutter and relatively slow 80ms frame exposure rate.

I'll be trying again next month and will brace the lens to the tripod and if necessary set up a beach tent.
