seismometer wireless connections

Hi folks, I have a couple Rasp. pi seismographs and one infiltec, they are connected via power cables and ethernet/USB currently bit I want to move them.
I have sorted the power but I need a solution to ....
Have some sort of box in the garden (under the deck) that would communicate with my wireless modem wirelessly but I can run ethernet/ USB cables into the garden from.
Apparently using the wifi on the rpi disrupts the signal.
actually the ifiltec uses a an old printer type connector but I have USB converter for that
cheers
graz
