Active focus and on the fly zooming camera.

Hi everyone...

When i first took up this interest of astrophotography I began imaging by mounting a regular digital camera at the end of an eyepiece and imaged through eyepiece projection.

This was good in that it allowed me to zoom in and out freely and also the camera would autofocus which meant your manual focusing didnt have to be 100%.
I took this video back in 2012 of the transit of Venus which demonstrated this. I used a Sony DSC-WX7 digital camera. Here it is if you would like to have a look:

Since then i have been searching of a camera that fits directly into a 1.25' or 2' eyepiece socket with autofocus capability and zoom.
However to this day i have not been able to find one. I dont know why this has not been made yet. IT would be a great idea to have one that can do this and be controlled through a PC.

Does anyone have any good suggestions of any such existing cameras or anyway to modify and adapt a good camera in such a way??

Thanks

John
