Post Is Life Most Likely Around Sun-like Stars?

In a 1 Nov 2017 paper on arXiv, Manasvi Lingam and Abraham Loeb of the
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics provide their analysis
of the habitability of Earth-analogs around stars of different masses.

By estimating the timescales associated with each of these items, we show that they collectively impose limits on the habitability of Earth-analogs. We conclude that planets orbiting most M-dwarfs are not likely to host life, and that the highest probability of complex biospheres is for planets around K- and G-type stars. Our analysis suggests that the current existence of life near the Sun is slightly unusual, but not significantly anomalous.

So no advance on the Drake equation, then.

I do seee with in the Drake Equation an attempt to relate their ...what I believe to be a percentage system ...numbers to a percentage chance for the universe..which if infinite would mean any percentage is sort of going to be infinite...so any example of life multipled by infinite will produce an answer of infinite ..we are that sample ..life is infinite in an infinite universe.

Alex, percentage can not be infinite... it could be 100% maximum (but I know what you meant )

i feel better knowing that something of my point is taken.
its probably a little lawyer like but the universe is so big i dont see how the Drake approach offers a really useful tool
