Mira

I notice Mira is clearly visible around Mag 3. It was due to reach maximum brightness in late December, 2017.

Its well worth a look before it disappears again.

Thanks Bob..Now that the clouds are going here in the inner City of Sydney I will look ..
Skysafari is saying it varies from Mag 2 to 10.1 every 331.96 days..
Its also a double, with the white Dwarf devouring the Red Giant ; an accretion disk bridge has been detected...Eventually to form Planets ..a possibility.

Mags 4.94 ,14.07 Sep 72.4 at 74°

But youll need a big Scope to detect them.
