NGC 55 Whale or String of Pearls Galaxy

I haven’t imaged for about 10 weeks now ( due to our state being on fire and crappy summer weather ) so to keep my interest levels up I’ve been reprocessing some faint objects I captured last year
Here’s NGC 55 Whale galaxy captured back in October last year at my weekender near Ulladulla ( Bortle 3 skies )
8” f5 Bintel GSO newt with new primary mirror springs on a Skywatcher EQ6-R Mount
Canon 600D with Baader coma corrector
About 2 hours integration ( 5 minute subs ) plus darks
PHD2 guiding
Goto and tracking EQMOD , StellariumScope and Stellarium
Framing and Capture BYEOS
Stacked in DSS
Re processed in Startools V1.4

This object was first discovered by James Dunlop in 1826 at his observatory at Parramatta in western Sydney
Carolyn Shoemaker once described it as a “String of Pearls” as its sometimes referred to
It is located in the Sculptor Group about 13million light years away
When you zoom in on my image there are tiny faint galaxies ( faint fuzzies) sprawled everywhere throughout. Not bad for an 8” at 1000mm focal length and an old DSLR

Can’t wait to get some imaging time again with my 8” f5 newt . It’s been a while for me ( around 10 weeks ) and no doubt a lot longer for other members

Nice image Martin, it's a tough target for smaller scopes but you've done well to pull out some the finer details.

Thanks Lost in Space, it’s one of my favourite galaxies and no issue for my 8” f5 newt
Thanks Tony , clear night on the South Coast NSW tonight so I’m going for the Rosette Nebula. See how my DSLR holds out as it’s a warm night so I’ll be using my little cooling fan and dithering every sub , see how we go. Oh and plenty of data needed as well so hope to get 2 or 3 hours before it gets to low in the West
