Tarantula revisited with Espirit100 and asi071mc pro

I posted some images of the Tarantula here recently based on subs from my asi533mc and Askar400 apo (72mm 5.6).

I havent used my espirit100 for a while since getting the Askar400 and new Ioptron CEM40 mount and wanted to see how well that mount managed the 11kg weight of my older Espirit setup with asi071mc pro. Seemed to manage no different to the much lighter Askar/asi533 combo so pleased on that score.

Here's 5 and a half hours of 180s subs taken over two nights with the asi071mc pro and Espirit 100ed using the Lextreme filter. Not quite as much depth as I got to before (running closer to ten hours) but finer detail I think.

C& C welcome.

Looks pretty decent to me.
I gathered more data and threw out about 80% of everything..stacking right now...but I am trying to get that detail at the core..very difficult so far...My gain was too high and noise is terrible but hopefully a result later tonight.

Alex
Great work.

thanks Alex, looking at the improvement you've got being more ruthless with subs I need to do the same I think as I gather more. It's harder of course to be ruthless when snatching a few precious hours between week-long blocks of solid cloud!

Well done Rob, I like it.

To think your using a OSC, it looks like a narrow band result!

thanks Nik and Peter.

Peter yes its amazing these days what you can do with OSC, the ASI071mc pro here. With the L-extreme filter as it's just two 6nm notches (Ha and OIII) I guess its as close to narrowband as you can get without using single NB filters.

That is a lovely image, intricate detail. You are getting a great OIII response from that filter. ZWO duoband.

I would take that as the ultimate praise Rob, and one day I hope to get the nod.

It would mean that finally I have learnt something!
