M83 Further different scales

While on the subject of M83 here is a pic with a different image scale.
Stack of calibrated 18x 20sec
f10 3000mm focal length
12inch Meade ACF
prime focus
unguided
ZWO 178 MC camera, bmp files
Slight edge crop done.

I just wanted to test the ZWO and check out the FOV compared to the DSLR, Canon 50d cropped likewise but slightly. Looks like the ZWO is worth going on with but for some reason ImagesPlus wouldnt batch process the bmp and said the darks had a different colour profile from the lights.
Plus I need another ZWO for guiding...

I wonder how an hour or two of 20sec exposures would workup to.

Thanks for looking.

Nice work Glenn.
I like short exposures for many reasons and I say go for an hour or more ..unguided gives you an auto dither☺ and you may find noise less.
Please keep them coming.

M83 with ZWO camera

Thanks Alex, all depends on the weather....
Got my old guide camera driver update install done and testing done so I may be able to guide with the choice of two cameras now. An old Meade DSI Pro - mono with 9x7micron pixels - quite sensitive.
Dither in PHD2 is good for sure.
I see SharpCap does polar alignment as well. Two programs to choose from, arent we spoiled!

Cheers

We are very lucky for so many reasons.
I am out now and although the Moon is very bright the sky is cloud free at the moment...so I am taking more of Eta too see what I can do given the light.
And using the time to set up PHD as I instaled a newer version.
I can remember when the Meade LPI first came out...I was able to stop using web cams and pulled down digital cameras.
I found one the other day in its little balsa box..took me back a ways.
