Jupiter & Ganymede

Very good seeing for a while just as Ganymede was starting it's transit, some nice surface detail can be seen.
Regards, Phil

Nice work Phil,

they look like your best images of this apparition so far.

Cheers,

Very impressive Phil! I love the detail in Ganymede and how it stands out particularly in the colour image and like the weighting of your feather duster.

Best regards,
Mark

Wow, excellent and very clean, authentic detail Phil

One thing that always intrigues me is that when masters like you reveal the Jovian moons is clear discs with detail, they always look like they are a size big enough to be resolved better during naked eye viewing..? Is this because they are so bright through an eyepiece that even though the disc may be obvious it still just looks like a bright dot...?

Mike

I'm not sure that I've ever seen naked eye detail better than a camera, but my eyes are 67 years old and I have heard of teenagers seeing detail I never have. Oh to be young again!
