Probably second best RGB from last night. One minute per channel.
Given the 45 degrees altitude, I don't think I can do much better than this, although I can try better processing.

Reason: I replaced the image with a more carefully processed one.
Thanks for the comments. I always try to match the visual appearance, with the processing. That means one needs to stare at the image for a while to see the subtle details, just like at the eyepiece.

The old DIY 16" Dall-Kirkham, at prime focus. It is in bad need for a primary recoat.
Thanks Andy,
This was a 3 minute capture and I'm still sitting on a 9 minute RGB set that I will process when I'll have more time.

Thanks Colin,
Definitely yes. This is my 5th generation planetary cam. First one was a DIY one, back in the late 90s.

Do not worry. Lately I've been thinking that I should replace the 16" optics in the old D-K with 14". I think a 14" better suits the seeing here. Also when I did the figuring of the 16", I did not use an interferometer, because I did not have one. I should be able to make a better primary now, and also reduce the thermal mass in the mirror box.
Those images are great Stefan. Very sharp and detailed. Among the best I have seen so far. Thank you for sharing these. Hmmm so many great images here on IIS.
