Barred Spiral Galaxy IC5092

Rarely photographed, the barred spiral galaxy IC5092 lies 150 million light years away in the southern sky. Its outer arms seem to form a ring around the inner barred structure.

The galaxy is shown illuminated by stray light from a bright star just outside the field of view.

Really nice galaxy shot
That out of field star makes it look like the galaxy is going into warp or something

Good resolution, nice colour and an interesting object. To nitpick, there is a bit of colour noise in the galaxy, especially in the outer halo.

Very fine. As Geoff said, great colour and detail.

We like the distant distorted galaxy close in toward 2 o'clock from the main one.

The Vogon / Klingon tractor beam makes for a nice story, but this time they've bitten off more than they can chew.

Best,
MnT
