Did star HD 240430 devour its own rocky planetary children?

In a September 19 2017 paper submitted to arxiv.org, Semyeong Oh et. al.
of Princeton reports on observations of a pair of stars, HD 240430 and HD 240429.

There is a metallicity difference between the two, in fact the largest
metallicity difference found in a wide binary pair yet. The more metal
rich of the two, HD 240430, also has higher concentrations of lithium.

The authors speculate whether HD 240430 may have devoured
the equivalent of 15 Earth-mass rocky planets.

They have nicknamed it 'Kronos' after the titan of Greek mythology
who devoured his own children.

Its companion they have nicknamed Krios, the brother of Kronos,
who was the more benign of the two siblings.

I think it is unfortunate firstly that certain folk are driven to give things the names of Gods found in mythology, and secondly based on what seems mere speculation to extend further the attempt to parrallel the flow of nature to some human concept created from superstition and myth.

Children??? I fail to see how a binary relationship can be extended to that of a relationship between a parent and child.

It was that sort of approach that saw humans asserting they were related to the Gods ...somehow the Sun..and look at the rot that nonsence has shackled humans to as a result.

Metaphores and the like is best left to fiction and has no place in science or the description of planets or their behaviour.

Well they do so and draw my disapproval...and there are many car makers who need to think more about silly and inappropriate names.

I also find the naming of many software products controversial... or just silly.
However.. you have to label things somehow so you can reference them in the future discussions ... and strictly speaking, names - no matter how silly they are, are just labels.

Everything should be given numbers perhaps with a letter before to denote catagory.
EG... describing food could be simply...F 23978 such number representing perhaps pepper steak in red wine.
