Old EQ6 ascom control.

My EQ6 is perhaps over a decade old...it is a white one that can out before they went black for a while.

I have a shoestring box that I bought years ago when I was trying to set up to auto guide but never did...
I presume I can use this still a d wonder if others can point out possible problems or if it wont work because of something.

I purchased a 10 mtr usb cable and can now sit inside and cintrol the camera and had some fun with the little zwo thru the eight inch.
But the eq6 sits in the cube permanent so it would be great to get it working like the HQE5...which is sortta working
It needs a few adjustments but its not a bad mount I think.
Or is it time to get a new one? I have had my moneys worth out of it☺
Mmmmm I just remebered the new ones have belt drive mmmm belt drive.

My SW EQ6 Pro is one of the black ones. I got it second hand about 7 years ago and it wasn't young then, 10 years + I would reckon. Hand controller is at firmware level 3.37. I have EQmod and ASCOM running, I can control it through Cartes du Ciel or even through Sharpcap. I've now got it running on pulse guiding and talking to the PC through the handset. So yours should be ok Alex.

Amazing the things you can do when you have enough time to delve into them. I've only just got all this going since I retired. Never had the time or the patience before, now I'm looking for challenges. A WiFi game controller is a possible next step.
