Telescope shop in Perth

Hi Guys,
Anyone know of a telescope shop in Perth (is still open) that has a range of scopes I can check out?

I'm afraid there is no shop nearby.

Looking on the internet I found

https://www.bintel.com.au/perth-telescopes-australia/

but they don't have a branch in Perth.
Other options are Teleskop Express in Germany, they ship to Australia and are rather affordable, despite the recently risen euro exchange rate (now A$1.50). Importing is free under A$1000.

Another German seller has an Australian branch: https://myastroshop.com.au/

Anthony, Camera House in Midland took over the optical stock of a defunct
business several years ago, and held about 25-30 Skywatcher scopes of
all sizes in stock, but must have found them slow moving, as they now only seem to carry about 12-15, mostly refractors and 2 or 3 reflectors.
The Manager and a couple of the shop staff have some knowledge of
their astro products. They also carry eyepieces etc, and can order
SW parts.
I have no connection with either Camera House or SW.

I think that NVT is in Perth, at least their postal address is. But I could not find their store address so it may be just another online shop. I never ordered from them or visited their store and really don't know anything about them.

What about "Binocular Telescope and Optical World"?: http://members.iinet.net.au/~champas/contact.shtml

They say they have viewing sessions through scopes on Thursdays...

I dealt with B.T.O.W [Keith] for many years, but he shut down the store in
Malaga several years ago, and went online only. If the link is current, maybe
he has opened up the store again.

Most likely the BTOW website is old. Google maps says that it is closed. I am in Malaga tomorrow and, if I remember, will drive past the old shop location to confirm.

I forgot to say that I don't think there will be problems with shipping scopes from over east. I have experience with Bintel and Andrew's Comms and the stuff is usually packed to survive even Au post's handling. Also the last order from Andrew's got shipped by a courier.

Don't worry about shipping interstate, I have sent and received numerous
scopes, mounts, accessories, etc: and never had any arrive damaged.

I bought my first real scope – 10” Dob – and later some eyepieces from Keith when he was in Malaga and found him to be very helpful.

Now he’ll be just around the corner. I might pop down for his opening night also.

Will be interesting to see the new shop in Joondalup!

Will second raymo's comments in that I've had no issues with shipping stuff from over east.

Cheers- Jimmy.

Hi
Looks like they open 22nd March. Also on facebook.

Grand opening, BBQ sausage sizzle in the evening, view the night sky for FREE, (weather permitting)

I hope to have a look a month later, I wonder if any snags will be left over?

Philip

Please let us know if they are any good. I live halfway between east and western states. As long as the service is good and the prices are reasonable.

I hear the comments about Australia Post, but if packed well have not had problems. The postage price over the last couple of years though has been more painful!
