This image of the mighty glob was taken from my backyard last Thursday night of an old favourite amongst many stargazers I'm sure.

Shot through my Newt with 87x30"subs@ISO800 with UV/IR cut & modified Canon 60D.

This forum has shared invaluable advice in this gratifying hobby for which I'm grateful as I feel I'm finally getting the gist of my setup, which was originally built soley for visual astronomy.

Hope you like this

Cheers,
Anth

Anthony, this would have to be one of the best examples ever posted on IIS of Omega Centauri. You have managed to capture all the features that make this one of the most beautiful objects in our night sky. The colours are wonderful, the detail in the core and your processing skills have all played in making this a truly great shot. Congratulations! I'm glad you've got so much out of this forum to produce this result.

That’s a very nice globular cluster Anthony! The colour balance is excellent, hasn’t been pushed towards the blue/white as a lot of them are.

Well done Anthony.

Very controlled stretching and colour control.

Just for fun, try pushing the saturation way up & see what happens!!

Cheers LostInSp ce, I tried this target in 2017 and wanted to improve the core resolution, nice comment.

Thanks Atmos, This very point you make was something I endeavored to do, gathered from some of the gurus in the Deep Sky section, I am glad you see it that way too.

Cheers StuTodd, I carry the heavy 10" on the NeQ6 Pro, but this was totally unguided. I haven't been game enough yet to try Autoguiding, (still learning the craft) but have it in my sights that's for certain. Maybe not such a good Idea for my setup though - long 1250mm focal length weighing 18kg!

Mickoid, thanks for your thoughts on this image, very kind I must add, yeah mate I have been working away at the data capture and more recently learning some better habits with my processing making steady improvements here and there. I've identified what I can do in the field to make things easier - one of them being polar alignment and following that my workflow is a lot smoother now.
Cheers

Thankyou Alex, indeed I am pleased with this one, as always, darker skies would help things to get that elusive magical shot but 'you get what you get and don't get upset', hehe.

Hi Pkay, Thanks for your comments, I didn't want to see the core lose its structure, so I must say I purposely chose not to push the sat too much, but what the heck I will have another go later and see what effect it has if I do as you say - just for fun! hehe.
