Skull and Crossbones ... or Snoopy?

NGC 2467. I've gone for the HOO combo that Mike n Trish avoided! I like their Snoopy interpretation of this, as I cannot see the skull or crossbones myself

Not a particularly pretty looking nebula IMHO - I was a bit disappointed with the outcome. But that's probably more down to my image than the nebula I guess!!

Details and full res available on Astrobin here.

P.S. The unfortunate halos on the brightest stars are as a result of using ZWO narrowband filters.

Well I think the HOO combination has worked Paul. Rather than Snoopy though I reckon it looks like a celestial fish swimming across the screen

Great image and a good subject. Definitely the melted Terminator . I can see the celestial John Dory also.

Interesting that the choice of filter makes such a difference to the Star shape.

Very fine indeed. Colour came out very well. Your wider field gets in all of the nebula. Nicely framed.

(For others: to see Snoopy, you have to hold the image upside-down.)

The halos round the stars don't bother at all. NASA and ESO often have such haloes around their stars.

Noice! From this angle it's Snoopy downunder on bondi beach with his surf lifesaver's cap. Pretty sure Mike can confirm.

I can’t see the skull and crossbones, but there is definitely a guy with a bushy white beard staring out at us on the right hand side. Nice image btw

Thanks Rodney, Ray, Mike n Trish, Marc and Geoff.

Given the range from skull and crossbones, terminator, fish, bearded guy and Snoopy, perhaps we should call it the Rorschach Nebula!
