IC 2944 - Another fleeing chook. First narrowband image

Hello all
Another IC 2944 - Running Chicken Nebula in the hubble palette.
My first proper go at a NB image and I am really unsure about colours and balance.

I would like some critical comment please and feel free to re process.

Full res here http://astrob.in/300091/0/

20x600 secs in each channel using a Sharpstar 65Q,QHY9 and Baader filters.

Thank you
Jeremy

That's quite nice, Jeremy. You've got half the traditional gold/turquoise colouring but there's nothing wrong with the green instead. The absence of magenta stars & halos is a big plus, IMO. My suggestion for improvement would be to try and pull out a bit more variation in the colours.

Cheers,
Rick.

Hello Rick
Thanks for the comments and suggestion.
I had a bit of a play as you suggested and came up with this

Looking at it again now I may have overdone it just a bit?
Thank you

I like the new colouring, Jeremy, but looks like you might have lost some of the faint glow. It's always tough doing the final version

Welcome to the current chook yard.

You got a lot more data than for mine and it shows. My only suggestion would be to try to push the colors a bit to show more differentiation - for example, my version was far too green dominant. Yellow and green are a bit similar so perhaps push the green further "away"?

I have push and pulled colours all around and have concluded that more O3 data would help.
Anyway this is what I came up with.......
