Polmaster settings for Stellarium

Hi Guys,

I have been googling this forum and the rest of the web but cannot find the settings for the QHYCCD Polmaster required to set it up in Stellarium as both camera and lens so that Stellarium can simulate the field of view of the Polmaster.

So what I need is:

Camera:

- number of pixels (x-axis; y-axis)
- chip dimensions (width, height in mm)
- pixel dimensions (width, height in microns)

Lens:

- aperture in mm
- focal length in mm

Help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Hi NL,
Polemaster comes with its own software, and as far as I'm aware it can't be run through 3rd party software. It would be nice if it could double as guide cam, but not yet. Anyway, the lens is 25 mm, camera is 3 MP with resolution of 30 arc s / pixel. Hope that helps.

Ioptron sells a Polemaster rebadged with their own brand name. It looks identical though. Some of the info you need is on a table at the end of this PDF manual.

You could just jiggle the parameters so you end up with a custom field 11 degrees by 8 degrees. It's a huge field of view.

Thanks a lot Graeme, I have added the missing data and will copy the info here, so that if someone searches our forum it will be here in this post.

I use Stellarium to simulate the view of the Polmaster to help me find Octans.

Chip Dimensions 4.8mm x 3.6mm
Field of View (FOV) 11 degree X 8 degree
Optical Focal Length 25mm focal length
Optical Aperture 20mm Aperture
Pixel Number 1.2 million (1280X960)
Pixel Size 3.75μmX3.75μm

Cheers,
