20-inch f/4.5 mirror + secondary

I am selling a 20-inch diameter (504mm clear aperture), 30mm thick plate glass mirror, f/4.5 (f=2254mm), with matching 3.5-inch secondary. Aluminised about 2 years go. $800 + delivery.

The optics are adequate, but NOT fantastic - they work well as a light bucket but DO NOT produce great images of planets. It's great for galaxies etc that the large 20-inch aperture brings out, just don't expect perfection on the planets. Having given that warning, I have to say that I've been using this in a telescope for 4 years and had lots of great observing nights with it. It's a cheap, home-made mirror (not by me) with reasonable performance that will get you going with a large aperture and give years of satisfaction.

Potential buyers are welcome to come and look through the telescope before committing - but will need to be quick as I will start dismantling the old telescope shortly. Contact me for more information.
