PixInsight asks for activation again

Hi,
I bought PixInsight a couple of years ago. I received the activation email and the activation worked and I was able to use the program. For various reasons I have not used it for a long time. Today I went to start it and it asked for activation again (why I don't know, I haven't done any upgrades or anything else for ages).
So I searched and found the original activation email and re-entered the provided codes by copy and paste.
It then announced that the activation codes were invalid!
Anyone have any idea what is going on?
Ian

Thanks Suavi,
Had a look at their forum and found that the licence file is supposed to be located in (for windows machines)
C:\Users\<user-name>
It was not there. so searched and found it in the installation folder for PixInsight. Copied the licence file to the correct location and the program started normally.
Unfortunately I have no idea how this situation came about. I certainly would not have deleted a file called pixinsight licence!
Strange things happen.
Thanks
Ian

Great to hear you resolved it Ian.

Indeed, strange things sometimes happen with Windows

Only to people who have no idea how to use computers to begin with. Especially when they use cleaner or repair software with no comprehension. Gone are the days when OS repair software actually repaired. Ditto virus removal. Now they all just blanket delete files instead.

Well I am the first to admit to possible self delusion but I do like to think I have a reasonable idea of what to do/not do to have a reliable computer system since I have been involved with computing since before PCs existed.
I do not use any cleaner/repair software ever.
I do not use third party anti virus, only what is built into Win 10. (and I never have problems with infections.)
All my PCs are kept fully updated.
And for those who are inclined to blame Win 10 for their problems, as someone who has used Windows since its very first appearance, I reckon Win 10 is the most trouble free, stable and self maintaining version of Windows yet.
My comment about strange things happening was meant to include the strange things that sometimes happen between my ears.

Does anyone else miss the days of DOS (Disk Operating System) 2.whatever. It may have required a degree of knowledge of computers but you knew exactly what was happening. I still go to the "Windows Powershell" ie what's left of DOS and use it in preference to Windows.

The downside is that unless you knew what you were doing it was possible to do an awful lot of damage very, very quickly.
