Any suitable DVD/Movie making program for Windows 8.1

Hi guys, I am into making home DVD/Movies, and have been doing it for some time on my older XP machine.
However when i try to do the same thing with the new version of Windows 8.1 the program dosn't want to play nice, and wont import the Audio files, it is obviously not compatible with the newer version of Windows.

So I ask, is there a good, yet simple DVD/Movie making program out there suitable for 8.1.

Thank you in advance.

Leon

Do you mean like an authoring tool?

You could have a look at TMPGenc Authoring Works. I'm not sure if that is what you after though...

See AVS4YOU at http://www.avs4you.com/

It has everything you ever need. Cost is $59.00 for unlimited access to all the programs or a 1 year supscription for $39.00.

Most of the programs are Win 8 compatible (just look for the logo next to the Download button). The video editor is.

I bought this program (unlimitted) a couple of years ago and prefer it to Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10.

I think you can buy each product individually but buy any two and you may as well buy the lot. They are all useful.

I am using on Windows 7.

If you do get the AVS4YOU suite be careful with the registry cleaner. i.e. don't use it or make sure you back-up before you do. This cleaner, like many others on the market is a little too efficient.

The video editor works well under windows 7.

Microsoft does a reasonable job with Windows Movie Maker

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/w...maker-download

Considering it is free.

Windows Movie Maker (Free) works for me. It has a 'Live' component for uploads to social sites but I just ignore that. Drag & Drop clips and plenty of transitions, headers styles etc.

Or just dual boot with Ubuntu Studio or AV Linux its got all the stuff you need for multimedia video, photo's and music all out of the box. It has simple (Openshot) to full on video editors like Cinelerra . cost is free and its free of all the windows spyware problems with there "for free" software.

here is a simple slide show I did with using Imagination and open shot, check out the video on Imagination's web site to see what it can do for your photos in a slide show.
