Colour how do I get it.

OK I have seven stacks of what appear to be black and white images but I know there is colour there by looking at the final stack in DSS.
I open an image in photo shop and cant work out how to get it to colour up.
Any ideas.
If I can get colours I can put them together via layers for starters ... I know I need pixinsite but I expect I should be able to produce something in photoshop for now.

It is good to see humour Leon.
And I am happy if you had a moment of cheerfulness☺
Its a hot day here if similar where you are make sure to put up some shade for the ants, some water out for the birds and a beer in the fridge for your good self.
And above all ask your wife if there is anything you can do for her while she enjoys the cuppa you have made for her☺
I hope you and yours are well.

When you open them in Photoshop they will be mono, just click on Image, Mode, and select RGB.
Each of your filter files will need to be layered. At the extreme bottom right of the screen, select the small circle "create new fill or adjustment layer", click on that half shaded circle and select "Hue/Saturation".That will open a colour layer, in the properties box cluck on "Colouize" and move the slider to the colour you want or enter the value in the box. Select the blending mode "Screen", and clip the layer mask under the Layer in the top bar.

Probably easier to just copy what Ken Crawford does in his videos.

Hi Glen
Thanks for your help.
I am just jeeping my head above water but enjoying the swim.
I managed a nap this after noon and just woke up.
I had the worst nightmare ever ever ever.
Two guys tried to rob me and I stabbed one in the neck who lived and the other in the chest who died but they had taken all my astronomy gear...should have got them both.
It was so realistic.
Still tired but should manage another couple of hours.
I am learning so much each day and yet I seem to know nothing.

Alex
